Hello, friends. From my own experience I can say that in addition to lighting, I have already shot a lot of videos / various reviews about various lighting fixtures and automation methods with them, and power management is an equally popular topic.
Go to the story – Buy from Aliexpress
And although, for me personally, the priority solution is Xiaomi’s ZigBee sockets — which do not occupy the IP address, and consider energy consumption, and are repeaters for other ZigBee sensors, nevertheless they have a significant drawback — this is a triple plug.
And I do not give up hope to find all the same a device that is at least close in functions to Xiaomi, and at the same time has a suitable form factor. Today I’ll talk about one of the results of such a search.
Introduction
The hero of today’s review is the Alfawise PE1004T wifi-controlled socket. I previously dealt with the smart sockets of this brand, but they integrated into Sonoff’s Ewelink app. This one works with the Tuya Smart application, which is supported in the Home Assistant system. I recently talked about the Utorch ceiling light — which is also controlled by this application and has been successfully integrated into HA.

Supply
The outlet is supplied in a small cardboard box with a photograph of the device. All inscriptions are in English.
In the kit — in addition to the outlet, another small instruction, also in English.

Specifications
The socket works in AC networks from 90 to 240 V, with a frequency of 50–60 Hz
The maximum current is up to 10 A, in a 220 V network it is 2.2 kW
Supported 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Networks
It works in the temperature range from -10 to 40 C
Relative humidity 10 to 90%

Design
If Xiaomi released their zigbee sockets in this form factor, I probably would not have looked at others. This socket is designed for installation in Euro sockets, best of all “deep” — Shukovsky.

On the “receiving” side, there is a similar Euro socket, no adapters, alterations are needed, there is a grounding contact.

Of the controls — one button at the end, a short press — turns the socket on and off, holding — puts it into setup mode.

Dimensions — 6.1 * 6.1 cm and 7.5 cm in depth. And the depth of the outer part of the outlet is 3.5 cm

It is installed tightly and securely into the Euro socket, no reels are noticed. The main feature of this outlet is that no adapters are needed, set it and use it.

application
As I said — Tuya Smart management application. I already have an account in it and a Utorch lamp has been started — for more details, see the video about it. Manually select a new device — a power outlet and switch to help mode. Everything is painted in steps and in Russian.

There are no pitfalls. According to the instructions, you need to turn on / off and turn on the power again, hold the button for 5 seconds and add a new device. The whole process takes about a minute.
After that, the device appears in the list — everything is pretty similar to Mihome. By clicking on the line of the device, a plug-in is launched, in which you can turn on and off the outlet. The properties indicate compatibility with systems such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

In addition to remote on and off, the plugin has the ability to configure delayed off and on / off by timer — both one-time and by day of the week. Energy monitoring is not here.

If desired, devices connected to Tuya Smart can be added to Google Assistant — for this, go to the device settings section, select the device item that supports Google Service — find Tuya Smart and use your account to connect it.

After that, the account will appear in the list associated with Google Assistant, it remains to hope for speedy support for voice commands in Russian. You can also control the Utorch chandelier, about which I spoke earlier and the hero of the review.

Home assistant
Since I already have it registered in configuration.yaml — the tuya account I did not have to do any additional actions — the socket appeared shortly after being added to the account. If this is your first device in this application, then you need to register it and reboot HA.

After that, the outlet is accessible for control from the system, like an ordinary switch and can participate in automation and scripts.
Energy monitoring is also not here — which is logical, because it is not in the management application. Work in HA and application — happens in parallel, one does not interfere with the other.

Pros and cons
The pluses can be attributed — certainly a form factor, no alterations or adapters are needed, there is a grounding contact. No need to reflash or remodel — integrates into HA from the box. Integration into an alternative control system — does not cancel the operation of the native application.
Cons — lack of monitoring energy consumption, you need the Internet to work — since the connection with HA is not direct, but through an account in Tuya Smart, a small time lag
Conclusion
Thus, it can be summarized that the device is suitable for performing simple tasks to turn on / off household appliances, manually, planned, or in automation scenarios.
It is advisable to use in those tasks where a small time delay of several seconds is permissible — it happens because of control via the Internet.
In my case, the socket is used to remotely reboot the IP camera, which occasionally freezes and needs to be distorted by power.
That’s all, happy shopping!
