The Spanish company Cecotec has been on the market for more than 20 years and is engaged in the production of various household appliances, including robot vacuum cleaners, window cleaners and upright vacuum cleaners. Another product that came to me for review is the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 window cleaning robot. The main highlight of this model is a movable cleaning unit, thanks to which the robot is much better at scrubbing dirt. The manufacturer also claims good navigation & several modes of operation for various conditions of use. Next, I will review and test the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 in detail, after which I will express my own opinion whether this window cleaning robot is worth buying. And it costs, by the way, 280 dollars, which refers the device to the premium segment. So let’s go!

Appearance
Now let’s look at how the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 works. It is D-shaped. Black colour. The height of the case is greater than that of some analogues due to the handle extending beyond the case.

The overall height is about 11.5 cm. the distance between the window and the grate is usually from 10 to 15 cm, and the robot simply may not fit in, consider this point.

Move on. There is only one control button on the handle: start / pause. The power cord is non-removable. The connection with the extension is threaded.
Let’s see how Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 is arranged from below. It has 5 fall protection sensors. The robot moves with the help of caterpillars, they are surprisingly without protectors. The upper part of the platform is movable, it just allows you to wipe dirt from windows and other surfaces. Between the movable and fixed parts we see a scraper for collecting liquid residues from the window.

There is a power on/off button next to the main motor vents. Near it is an indicator showing the status of the washer. For example, in emergency mode, the indicator, like the button on the handle, flashes red.
Napkins are attached to the body with Velcro. It is important to install the napkins correctly so that they do not cover the sensors and equally extend slightly beyond the seat on all sides.

In general, there are no complaints about the build quality of the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970. The plastic is of high quality, there were no backlashes or any streaks of paint, as is the case in cheap Chinese counterparts.

Functionality
Let’s move on to an overview of the functions of Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970. The robot for washing windows is controlled using the remote control that comes with the kit. This model does not support smartphone control, however, the older 980 model is controlled both from a smartphone and via a remote control, although the robots are otherwise identical.

The top 5 buttons on the remote control are not used. Below them are buttons for manual control of the robot and start / pause. Below the joystick, on the left, there is a button that is responsible for the wheel cleaning function. To the right of it, the mode of thorough cleaning and local cleaning is turned on. Even lower are the buttons responsible for the N-shaped and Z-shaped mode of movement of the window cleaner.
In general, these functions will be sufficient for various window sizes and applications.

Well, the most important thing is to check how well the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 copes with its main task – washing windows. There will be several tests. A detailed video review with all the tests has already been prepared and published on the channel, I recommend watching:
Navigation
Let’s start with navigation. On a large window, the robot moves rationally, leaving no gaps. It is also able to wash narrow windows, such as in my case – the width of the window is only 35 cm. At the same time, the manufacturer declares a window width of 50 cm.

But there is one caveat – the length of the safety cable is about 130 cm. Therefore, if the windows are large, you need to choose the right place for installing the suction cup so that the insurance does not limit the distance that the robot is able to drive off. Questions immediately arise how to use the robot on large stained-glass windows, for example, 200 * 300 cm.
But it is precisely the navigation of this model that is good.

As for the quality of wiping dirt and, in general, window washing, we can confidently say that the cleaning module is effective and really allows you to wipe off not too serious dirt. There are no streaks, napkins collect dust well and wipe off stains.

Here is the only remark that is typical for all the window cleaning robots that I had on the test – due to the design and the sensors placed at the corners, the robot does not completely clean the windows in the corners. This is important to consider.

Well, in general, the recommendation – be sure to moisten the napkin with cleaning fluid before starting. Most importantly, if some of the liquid gets on the tracks or sensors when splashing, gently wipe them with a dry cloth.
Application on other surfaces
Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 can also be used for sinks and other vertical surfaces. For example, mirrored wardrobe doors or tiles in the bathroom. It is important to note that when a break is detected, the robot gently drives back, so it can be used on frameless windows.

The only thing the manufacturer claims is that this robot is suitable for washing horizontal surfaces, but in my case, when it started on the table, it started to behave strangely, so I can’t confirm this function.
Emergency operation
Well, in the end, I will demonstrate the operation of the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 in emergency mode with the power off. If you disconnect the robot from the network, it starts to make a sound, and the indicators on both the front and back sides start flashing red. This will allow you to detect the problem in a timely manner and remove the robot from the window.

Well, I repeat that it is necessary to use a safety suction cup, which is easily attached to the window and also simply detaches.
Personal opinion
Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 has been reviewed and tested in detail. I will share my impressions of this window cleaning robot. Liked the following:
- Good navigation.
- Efficient cleaning module.
- Quality build.
- Suitable for frameless windows.
- Complete set, incl. the manufacturer took care to equip the robot with a branded cleaning agent.
- Possibility of application not only on windows, but also on other vertical surfaces.
- Suitable for narrow windows.
- Availability of warranty and service support.
This model also has disadvantages, most of them are typical for all window cleaning robots, but there are also individual comments, namely:
- Short safety rope.
- Does not work on horizontal surfaces.
- Does not finish a small area in the corners.
- It may not fit between the window and the grate due to the protruding handle.
As a result, there are no critical comments to this robot, besides, the movable cleaning block distinguishes the device from most analogues. In my opinion, this model lacks only the system of automatic water supply to the napkin to make it more autonomous. Well, so far we see that the market for window cleaning robots is not developing as fast as in the situation with robot vacuum cleaners. There are not enough advanced solutions that will bribe at first sight and bring to mind one cherished phrase “I want to buy”. Therefore, given the price, Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 is clearly not inferior to its counterparts and can be considered one of the best in its segment. But before buying, you must understand that these devices have their own characteristics, which for the time being should be put up with.
