This review looks at a definitely noteworthy robot vacuum cleaner called the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra 2022. Priced at no more than $300, this unit is equipped with a gyroscope for navigation, a dry and wet mopping function with a floor polisher mode, a complete set, a proprietary application and a control panel, and even an optionally available self-cleaning station. In my opinion, the listed parameters give the right to consider it as the best gyroscope robot vacuum cleaner in 2022. It remains only to check how everything works in practice and how well Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra copes with its main task. For this, the robot vacuum cleaner will be tested in detail under various conditions. So let’s go!

Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner came in such a branded box:
Box
The package includes:
- Charging base with a storage compartment for the remote control and excess cord.
- Power adapter.
- A combined container for water and garbage with a napkin installed (moreover, a dust collector is already installed in the robot).
- Spare napkin.
- Control panel with batteries.

Equipment
Complete set maximum. There are all necessary accessories and consumables for the first time of operation of the robot. As mentioned earlier, you can also purchase a self-cleaning station if necessary. Its price is about $150-200.
Appearance
Consider how the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra works. It is round in shape and black in color. The height of the case is slightly less than 8 cm.
Height
The front has a soft-touch mechanical bumper. There are 2 mechanical buttons on the control panel: start / pause and forced return to the base for charging.
View from above
The dust collector is installed at the back of the robot. Behind the dust collector itself, an opening with a curtain for unloading garbage to the self-cleaning station immediately catches your eye. At least for a special dust collector you do not need to overpay when buying a station, this is a plus. HEPA based filtration system and strainer. The capacity of the dust container is not stated, but it is quite large, I think that it is at least 500 ml.
Dust collector
Instead of a dust collector, you can install a combined container for water and debris. It also has a curtain for unloading garbage into the station. The nozzle with a napkin is attached to a mechanical lock. Water enters the napkin through 3 holes. The napkin consists of two parts, they are separated. Water enters one part, and the second, drier, is needed to collect the remaining liquid from the floor. The napkin is fastened with Velcro and a groove, a very competent decision.
Combined container
Inside the container there is a pump for electronic regulation of the water supply. Again, the capacity is not stated, but it is similar to the container from other robots, which have a capacity of about 300 ml of debris compartment and somewhere around 200-250 ml of water. Filtration system based on mesh and HEPA filter.
Let’s see how Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra is arranged from below. It is equipped with two side brushes, which is a plus. There are 3 fall protection sensors under the bumper.
Bottom view
The rubber central brush is non-separable. With effort, you can of course remove the side parts from it, but I don’t think that this is intended by the manufacturer. To replace it, you can install a fluffy roller called Jalisco. And here it is just conveniently disassembled from two sides. This is a plus.
Overall, I liked the build quality of this robot vacuum cleaner. All nodes are easy to maintain and the plastic is of sufficient quality. There are no complaints.

Functionality
Let’s move on to an overview of the functions of the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra. The robot vacuum cleaner is controlled both through a proprietary mobile application and from the remote control. First, let’s look at the functionality of the application. The robot connects to a Wi-Fi network quite simply, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Unfortunately, at the moment the application interface is in English. But in the near future, brand representatives promise to English the application.
App control
On the main working panel, the robot vacuum cleaner builds a map of the room in real time. But note that this map is not stored in memory. To the right at the bottom of the card are buttons for starting the cleaning process and forcing the return to the base for charging. When you press the start button, you are prompted to select manual control or set up an automatic cleaning process. Here it is proposed to first select the cleaning mode. These are automatic cleaning of the entire available area with a snake, cleaning in a chaotic direction until the battery is discharged, along the perimeter, spot cleaning in a spiral, cleaning one room, or a polisher mode in which the robot vacuum cleaner moves along a Y-shaped path. After selecting the mode, you can adjust the suction power and the degree of wetting of the napkin. When setting up cleaning according to the schedule, it is proposed, again, to select the cleaning mode,
Cleaning Options Settings
The next section from the list below is the cleaning log. Well, the last section is the settings. Here you can specify the type of charging station, set the frequency of self-cleaning, view notifications and set up control via voice assistants. Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra syncs with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Additional settings
As for the functions when controlled via the remote control, all the same functions are duplicated here: setting the current time, forced return to charging, manual control, spot cleaning mode, cleaning time setting, room cleaning mode, perimeter cleaning, as well as adjusting the water supply level and suction power .
Remote control
In general, the functionality of the robot is quite interesting, given that navigation is based on a gyroscope. Particularly pleased with the optional self-cleaning and polisher mode. It is also important to note that the Conga 2290 is able to automatically increase the suction power when driving on carpets. True, this function is damp and the increase in power occurs with a delay.
Navigation
Well, finally, let’s move on to the tests. First of all, let’s check the navigation of the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra in the obstacle room. The robot vacuum cleaner divides the area into zones convenient for itself and first cleans them with a snake, then around the perimeter. I’m surprised it even swept around the legs of the chair, albeit moving it. Around the box, I didn’t shovel separately, I returned to the base without any problems after the cleaning cycle was completed. I think that this test is passed successfully, considering that this is a gyroscope robot vacuum cleaner!
Navigating the Obstacle Room
As for navigation within the house, here again – the Conga 2290 first passes through the entire available area with a snake, after which it cleans around the perimeter and returns to the base. However, over large areas, the map is built with an error, and as a result, the constructed map does not correspond to reality. Here, if we compare it with how the Cecotec Conga 3890 card was built in the same room , which was previously on the review:
Comparison of navigation Cecotec Conga 3890 and 2290
However, there were no missed sections, and the robot was able to independently find the base and return to it to charge. For 32 sq.m. free space it took him 53 minutes. I count this test, although there are questions about the accuracy of building a map.
Suction power
But the suction power of Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra pleased. Even despite the declared standard power of 2100 Pa, the robot vacuum cleaner managed to suck out debris from a gap of not only 2, but also 4 mm. The robot has increased suction power and this is a plus!
Suction power
Dry cleaning on laminate
The quality of garbage collection on the laminate is good. With a rubber brush, the robot cleaner was able to pick up all the various debris from the floor, leaving only a small part in the corners, like most other round robot vacuum cleaners. Wool and hair were not wrapped around the central brush, but the side brushes took on some of the hair. But with a pile roller, the quality of garbage collection is slightly lower, although also quite acceptable. It’s just that large debris is not able to physically pass into the gap between the suction channel and the brush. This type of central brush is recommended for picking up hair and dust on hard floors.
Dry cleaning on laminate
Carpet cleaning
The situation is similar with carpet cleaning. With a rubber brush installed, the robot vacuum cleans the carpet well, but with a fluffy roller, the cleaning quality is inferior. This is important to consider.
Carpet cleaning
Wet cleaning
On the other hand, the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra boasts a high-quality wiping of slightly dried dirt from the floor. After a double passage, there are no traces of dirt and streaks. There is a small narrow area along the baseboard, but this area is not cleaned by all robotic vacuum cleaners. At least the ones that were on the review.
Wet cleaning
But it is important to note that the robot vacuum cleaner is able not only to vacuum and mop the floor at the same time, but also to move like a Christmas tree in wet cleaning mode. This is a big plus of Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra.
Wet cleaning and carpets
As for wet cleaning in the presence of carpets, the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra does not recognize carpets very well, although it is capable of it, but the water supply does not turn off when driving on carpets. Therefore, I recommend protecting the carpets with the magnetic tape that comes with the kit.
Passability of obstacles
There are problems with overcoming 2 cm thresholds, however, the robot vacuum cleaner is able to move them. As with a nozzle for damp cleaning, and without it.
Passability of obstacles
Drive through dark surfaces
And one more advantage of Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra is that it runs over deep black coatings without any problems. Doesn’t recognize them as elevation changes. This is a plus!
Drive through dark surfaces
Noise level
In conclusion, we measure the noise level of Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra in different modes. With the suction turned off, it is in the range of 55-56 dB. In the minimum power mode, the noise level rises to 57-57.5 dB. At medium power, this value reaches 58 dB, and in Turbo mode, the peak noise level was 61 dB. We have to admit that this robot vacuum cleaner is quite quiet, with slightly above average suction power.
Summing up
Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra has been reviewed and tested in detail. According to our rating system, he managed to score 62 points , if you take into account the self-cleaning package, or 57 out of 100 points with the usual charging base. Any of the results is still the best when compared to other gyroscope robot vacuum cleaners . Well, I can immediately say that for me the Cecotec Conga 2290 Ultra is the best gyroscope robot vacuum cleaner in 2022.
Now I’ll tell you what I liked about this robot and what I didn’t. Among the advantages I can highlight:
- Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning.
- Optionally available base for self-cleaning.
- High quality cleaning.
- Increased suction power.
- Y-shaped wet cleaning mode.
- Full set.
- Remote control and mobile app control.
- The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of dark coatings.
- Low noise level.
- Quality build.
- Availability of warranty and service support.
As for the comments to the robot, they are not critical and there are not many of them. Namely:
- There are errors in the construction of the map of the premises.
- Automatic power increase on carpets does not work immediately.
- Application interface in English (temporarily).
As a result, the robot vacuum cleaner definitely deserves attention, and I think it will even easily compete with the iRobot Roomba i3 +, which is equipped with the same navigation and self-cleaning, only it costs one and a half times more and is not equipped with wet cleaning. And in general, the impression of the robot is very good, so I strongly recommend it for purchase!
