Review Compact car compressor 70mai Midrive TP03 2022.
Greetings to all visitors to the resource!
Every self-respecting motorist will sooner or later acquire an electric compressor. Manual or foot versions are good for their simplicity and reliability, but doing, for example, 200–300 strokes is difficult for everyone. In my practice, there have already been four car electric compressors, but the fifth will remain in the car — 70mai Midrive TP03. This is by far the best compressor I’ve ever dealt with! It is compact, copes with its work and what is important — it is automatic with a preset of the desired pressure value and a digital display!
I propose to get acquainted with the 70mai Midrive TP03 together, and along the way I will tell you about my previous compressors.

The branded packaging traditionally for 70mai is simple and concise — the main thing is what’s inside.
Separate consumer qualities are indicated in the form of icons on the side of the box — metal gears and a digital display.
Specifications on the underside of the package.
Inside we find a compressor in a black rough plastic casing and instructions. The dimensions of the compressor (164 * 148 * 54 mm) make it very convenient not only during operation, but also greatly facilitate the task of storing it in the car — it can be attached in the trunk, under the seat, in the glove compartment or in the door pocket of some cars.
A multilingual manual explains how to use it. Among other languages, there are pages in Russian, which greatly facilitates interaction with the device.
On the upper side of the case, the manufacturer’s holotype, a digital display and four buttons are modestly adorned. The first one changes the pressure units (KPa, Bar, PSI), use the — and + buttons to set its required value, and use the on / off button to start the compressor motor or turn it off if necessary. Everything is simple, without unnecessary fuss and any incomprehensible algorithms.
Outside air enters the inside of the compressor through vents on the two sides of the casing.
One of the important advantages of the 70mai Midrive TP03 is the organizer of the wire, hose and additional nozzles — the hose fits neatly into the groove in the bottom of the case and the end with the fitting dives under the hatch cover where the wire and nozzles are laid.
In my opinion, the decision is very correct — nothing dangles, nothing falls out and you do not pull the compressor wrapped in a hose and wire out of the trunk. Everything is compact and everything is at hand.
The label duplicates the characteristics in Chinese and English, but there is also a significant addition — the ratio of pressure units relative to each other is indicated and recommendations for pressure are given for balls, bicycles, scooters and cars.
We open the hatch and make sure that everything is thought out here too — the attachments are not just inserted into the holes, but are securely fixed in them: the ball needle is inserted through the rubber seal, the bicycle attachment is screwed into the body, and the floating attachment is fixed with a latch.
A 3 meter cord comes out of the hatch through the arch without interfering with the hatch closing, and ends with a cigarette lighter plug with a replaceable 12 A fuse.
A 0.6 meter long hose also exits the body through an arch, i.e. without disturbing the compressor to stand firmly on its feet in the working position. At the end of the hose there is a knurled brass gas nipple for easy screwing. It rotates easily, there are no difficulties.
And this is how a design with a screwed adapter for bicycles looks like. Although I have not seen such nipples for a couple of decades.
As for the hose, I would like to make a digression. The fact that the hose was not removable and did not follow the lead of the fashionable Baseus solution is very correct. In the BASEUS CRCQB01 and BASEUS CRCQB02 compressors I came across, the hoses were removable and from time to time they were unscrewed from vibration during the operation of the compressors. The air began to poison and the compressor running time increased. Here they did it simply, but reliably — the hose is not removable, there is nowhere to poison.
Now let’s open the case and look at the inner world of the device.
The first thing that is striking is the accuracy of the assembly with plastic clamps and spring hose clamps. A fan impeller is attached to the motor axis to cool the motor during operation. Surely there is enough air movement in the small case to cool the cylinder, which is also a good move. The cylinder of my first single piston compressor, Sturm, overheated after the first wheel, and then it just hummed. He could not pump up the second wheel.
Structurally, the cylinder and gears are made of metal alloys, only the connecting rod is made of plastic, which is not essential in such cases.
The second successful and correct moment is the use of a relay to turn on the engine. It is powerful here, the starting current and EMF are large during stopping. Baseus used an IGBT transistor in the CRCQB01 wired model, but they forgot to put a protective diode. As a result, after the first start-up, the second has already taken place only after replacing the switching power transistor and installing the missing diode. Here the solution, proven for decades, is a relay. Simple and reliable. I also noticed a ferrite filter through which the motor power wires are threaded. It’s a trifle, but it’s nice that the on-board network of the car is protected from interference arising during engine operation.
Moving on to field testing, it’s time to mention my stock two-cylinder compressor.
With good performance, it still has large dimensions and weight, and since there is no place in the car where it can be well fixed, it has to be carried in a felt wardrobe trunk, but even there it manages to rattle on uneven roads. In addition, despite the existing nozzle compartment under the round lid on top, these nozzles always end up at the bottom of the bag, and the pressure gauge on the yellow hose is shamelessly lying. When a pressure of 2.2 bar is needed, it shows in the region of 4. Accordingly, you need to check with a third-party pressure gauge. And of course, it is not automatic — you need to monitor constantly.
70mai Midrive TP03 lacks all these drawbacks, albeit with lower performance.
KPa, Bar, PSI are available to the user from pressure measurement units, which are selected with the R button.
Check the pressure ELECTRONIC PRESSURE GAUGE, which has been serving faithfully for the third year already. The outside temperature was around zero and against the usual 2.2 Bar in the tires it turned out to be 2.15 in a circle.
The tires on the machine are installed 205/55/16 and the length of the hose is quite sufficient even if the fitting is at the highest point.
Having wound the hose, I did not find the difference between the readings of the electronic pressure gauge and the compressor pressure gauge, i.e. the compressor can be used not only for inflation / inflation of wheels, but also simply for checking the tire pressure.
The required pressure, in my case 2.2 Bar, is set with the ± buttons, and is memorized by the compressor electronics even after switching off. The compressor coped with pumping up to 2.2 Bar in a matter of seconds. It took him a little more than five minutes to inflate the wheel from scratch (after all, there are such situations), which can definitely be called an excellent result with such dimensions and almost complete absence of heating.
The wheel was completely deflated, the stopwatch and compressor were turned on. In five minutes of operation, the compressor did not crawl to the side and did not deafen with a loud sound. It buzzes at the level of many others and automatically stops when the set pressure is reached.
In the same way, the second wheel was inflated from scratch and the result turned out to be identical — there is no heating, vibration migration, and in general the compressor can work continuously for half an hour, i.e. pumping up four wheels at once is not a problem for him. A really good design.
Well, and one detail in relation to my car. In the trunk there are two niches of unknown purpose without any standard mountings. And it is there that the compressor will be fixed with a belt with Velcro Velcro or MESH 20 * 25 CM…
As a result, I can honestly say that this is the best compressor that I have come across. As such, I did not find any disadvantages during operation. Compactness, excellent design, accuracy of manufacture, selection of units of measurement, memory of the set pressure value and automatic shutdown when the compressor reaches only a plus. Definitely, this is the best and long-desired acquisition for the car.
Happy shopping!
